We choose to use hard-wearing cloth rather than the light cloth generally available in the local town market – we’ve found the uniforms simply don’t last the distance in the village environment.

Inflation is now a big social problem for the village and so we are ordering and paying for exercise books, pens and pencils this week to avoid paying even higher prices in September.

When we arrive we’ll have much pleasure in sourcing a computer for the school. Imagine, the school which has no electricity will be getting a computer! How will it be powered? Stay tuned for updates during our visit!

Always a highlight of our field trips is the annual school excursion which this year is planned for Saturday, October 11 when we will be taking 106 students to the Silk Farm and the Cultural Centre.

We’re looking forward to meeting the students, especially those we have seen grow over several years, to learn how they are going, and how much help is needed for children to get to the high school which is some kilometres distant.

And to see what is needed to give the school more resources.

If you would like to share in this worthwhile endeavour, please let us know.
