Our tuk tuk man (we call him &#8220;Number 9&#8221;\u00a0after his registration number 0209) was waiting and took us into the town centre to the eatery known as &#8220;BBQ&#8221; &#8211; simple, eh? There we treated all the Khvein teachers and their husbands\/wives to\u00a0an interesting Cambodian meal. They all loved it &#8211; we&#8217;re great friends now. Touchingly one teacher (a great teacher too), married to an army captain, tells us she hasn&#8217;t any surviving parents and has asked us to be her &#8220;godparents&#8221;. We&#8217;re not sure how that works but it seems an honour anyway. We&#8217;re invited to the army camp tomorrow morning, after we&#8217;ve been to the school.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Margaret&#8217;s having some difficulty today but has had a happy and enthusiastic day nonetheless.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A happy event today!
