Both are Khvien students who have the goal of becoming teachers themselves and so benefit their community. They are being sponsored by friends from Australia and New Zealand.

The solar energy at the school is being well utilised – the computer is getting well used!

Solar electricity has not been connected to the classrooms yet from the library building where the solar panels, battery and invertor are sited.

The family whose parents have HIV/AIDS are receiving regular supplies of rice.

S_______, a wheelchair bound teenage girl from the village is being assisted to High School and is now being assisted by Handicap International.

We are very pleased that the teachers at Khvien school have committed themselves to running a school where there is no corruption. It’s common practice in Cambodia for teachers to demand the payment of “school fees” from their students. Such a thing in Khvien would be decimating as most families are too poor to make payments without sacrifing money for rice. School Director Mr Hon aims to have a large proprtion of village children in school – and we are supporting him to do that.

Of course, teachers are poor too and have a meagre income. We are making arrangements to support them and will be posting further details of how supporters can share in that very soon.

Martin, Margaret and Robbie

The year so far: Happy reports from R________ and V___________ who are doing well in their studies in English at High School and University respectively.
