FACTORY WASTE SUSPECTED OF KILLING <\/span><\/span>TONLE SAP<\/span><\/span> FISH<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“For eight years there has been a problem with fish dying because of the factory, but usually only about two tons – this year it is too much” said Oun Chan, 55, a fish farmer and village representative. About 13 tons of fish died on Tuesday.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Oun Chan said he sold the poisoned fish at the market at a reduced price.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Those fish are okay to eat” he said, adding that in the past he had sold poisoned fish and never received complaints.”<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Chiek Ang, deputy chief of the municipal environment department, said the fish killed on Tuesday should not be eaten.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“The dead fish may affect the condition of our health,” he added<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nYet another problem for the people of Siem Reap province to cope with!\u00a0<\/p>\n
