A “Banquet” for the teachers and helpers

A happy event today! Our tuk tuk man (we call him “Number 9” after his registration number 0209) was waiting and took us into the town centre to the eatery known as “BBQ” – simple, eh? There we treated all the Khvein teachers and their husbands/wives to an interesting Cambodian meal. They all loved it – we’re great friends now. Touchingly one teacher (a great teacher too), married to an army captain, tells us she hasn’t any surviving parents and has asked us to be her “godparents”. We’re not sure how that works but it seems an honour anyway. We’re invited to the army camp tomorrow morning, after we’ve been to the school.

Margaret’s having some difficulty today but has had a happy and enthusiastic day nonetheless.
