Khmer Independent Life Team (KILT) is a group of landmine victims who live together and work on different projects with the aim to be self sustaining and reintegrated into Cambodian society. They are a wonderful group and Kourosh Aghassi took his hand milled rice program there and the rice made up on KILTs premises.
And this is the program that they now do taking cooked food to the slum areas with TouchaLife
Touch*A*Life is a beautifully simple program started by Mavis Ching that provides free nutritious vegetarian meals on a weekly basis to those in need. Assistance is provided without regard to religious beliefs, gender, or ethnic background.
Mavis has entrusted the team at KILT with the cooking and delivery of the meals to those in need in and around Siem Reap.
In return the entire team at KILT get to share in the meals they prepare and deliver, get a salary for the cooking and delivery of the meals and get to participate in a wonderfully essential and effective program.
More on Touch*A*Life here.
Each month Kourosh and KILT bring rice in an ethical, corruption free environment to the teachers and needy families of Khvien village, providing a model of corruption free rice distribution.
