We’ve heard from R__________. She tells us that New York International School have changed their lessons timetable and her class has been re-scheduled to the evenings. This, of course, is very difficult. Travelling home from Siem Reap in the dark to Khvien village scares her, with good cause, we’d say, and she feels she must stop.
 
Her fees are paid until March 26th.
 
We’ve been thinking of what can be done for her e.g. get a tuk-tuk home but we’re not confident of her safety there either. Also it wouldn’t really be cost effective, even if it were possible. Again we wouldn’t want to send her money because we believe the ‘relatives’ would “borrow” it from her.
 
We’ve written to say we understand completely and when we are visiting her in April we will see what can be done. We’ve also asked her to enquire about alternative schools, if any.
 
Anyway, it’ll be something to follow through with when we’re there. How glad we are that we will be on hand to talk about issues like this!
