FACTORY WASTE SUSPECTED OF KILLING TONLE SAP FISH
“For eight years there has been a problem with fish dying because of the factory, but usually only about two tons – this year it is too much” said Oun Chan, 55, a fish farmer and village representative. About 13 tons of fish died on Tuesday.
Oun Chan said he sold the poisoned fish at the market at a reduced price.
“Those fish are okay to eat” he said, adding that in the past he had sold poisoned fish and never received complaints.”
Chiek Ang, deputy chief of the municipal environment department, said the fish killed on Tuesday should not be eaten.
“The dead fish may affect the condition of our health,” he added
